LPR reports 10 truce breaches by Ukrainian army in past 24 hours

LUHANSK/KYIV. July 24 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian armed forces have launched ten attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past 24 hours, the LPR militia told Interfax.

"The Ukrainian army has breached the truce ten times over the past day, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, AGS, SPG and RPG grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles, Dragunov sniper rifles, a GP-25 under-barrel grenade launcher, and small arms," the LPR militia said.

According to it, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled districts of the populated localities of Lohvynove, Frunze, Znamenka, Kalynove, Molodezhne, Lozove, Slovianoserbsk, and the area near the Prince Ihor Monument near Stanytsia Luhanska.

"There has been no destruction, civilian or militia casualties," it said.

The Defense Ministry of self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), for its part, said that it had recorded 45 attacks by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours.

"The armed forces of Ukraine have violated the truce 45 times over the past 24 hours. The Ukrainian armed forces have shelled vicinities of 20 populated localities of the republic, using artillery, mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, grenade launchers, and small arms," a DPR Defense Ministry spokesman told reporters on Monday.

A house burned down in Kominternove as a result of the Ukrainian army's strikes, he said.

The Ukrainian armed forces, for their part, said that their positions in Donbas had come under fire 14 times in the past 24 hours.

"One Ukrainian serviceman has been wounded," the press center of the headquarters of Kyiv's military operation in south-eastern Ukraine said on its Facebook account on Monday morning.
