Donetsk filtration station back in operation - JCCC

KYIV. July 25 (Interfax) - The Donetsk filtration station near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, resumed operations early on July 25, the press center of the headquarters of Kyiv's military operation on Donbas said, citing Ukrainian officers at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC).

"The station will resume full operations at around midday, after all of the units have been synchronized, and consumers on both sides of the contact line will begin receiving drinking water," the press center said on its Facebook account on Tuesday.

The Donetsk filtration station stopped receiving electricity and suspended operations on the evening of July 22 as a result of fighting on the contact line.

The Ukrainian part of the JCCC said that the Donetsk filtration station is one of the most vulnerable critical facilities of the region's civilian infrastructure, and each disruption of its operations for more than four days leaves at least 400,000 people on both sides of the contact line without drinking water.
