Moldovan president hopes to meet with Putin in fall
CHISINAU. July 25 (Interfax) - Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that his next meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected on the sidelines of a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit in Sochi in the fall.
"We succeeded in settling a lot of problems in relations with Russia. It became possible owing to my good relations with President Vladimir Putin. We should have continued the resolution of the issue of migrants, but the Moldovan government's decision to expel five Russian diplomats hampered this. It has been done intentionally in order to disrupt our developing relations with Russia. We will get back to this issue at the next meeting with Vladimir Putin. If it does not take place earlier, the next meeting will be held at a CIS summit, which will be held in Sochi in the fall," Dodon said on Tuesday evening, when asked online by users of the Odnoklassniki social network.
When asked whether Moldovan citizens will be able to work in Russia without a patent, he said that it had been impossible yet.
"The point is that Moldova, in contrast to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). I have already filed an application for getting the status of observer in the EAEU. I hope that a positive decision will be made already in October. We will be moving further to settle all these issues," Dodon said.
