Patrushev to discuss migration, demographic problems in Far East

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev will hold a meeting on Far East security issues in Yakutsk next week, a Russian Security Council spokesperson said.

"At the behest of the president, Patrushev, together with the leaders of the Federation's constituent regions that make up the Far Eastern Federal District, and representatives of federal ministries and government agencies, will discuss progress in implementation of the state migration policy and additional measures for improvement of the demographic situation," Security Council spokesman Yevgeny Anoshin told Interfax on Friday.

The officials will also discuss progress in the implementation of regional programs to develop border areas from the perspective of Russia's national security, he said.
