Russian Swimming Federation has no info on Russian national team ex-member Vyatchanin's U.S. citizenship
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The Russian Swimming Federation has no information as to whether former Russian swimmer Arkady Vyatchanin has acquired U.S. citizenship.
"He has not competed for the Russian national team for three years now, and we have no information as to whether he has acquired any citizenship," Russian Swimming Federation President Vladimir Salnikov told Interfax on Monday.
Vyatchanin has not competed for the Russian national team since 2013. He acquired Serbian citizenship but was unable to perform for Team Serbia.
It was reported earlier on Monday that Vyatchanin had been granted U.S. citizenship and can now compete for this country's national team.
