Kazakh president meets with EAEU prime ministers in Astana

ASTANA. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with the prime ministers of the EAEU member countries, who will attend a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Astana on Monday.

Nazarbayev greeted the prime ministers before the Council meeting and invited them to Astana EXPO 2017.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council has lots of economic items on the agenda of its meeting, Nazarbayev said. He wished fruitful work to the prime ministers.

Astana will play host to the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council at the level of the EAEU prime ministers; the Russian delegation will be led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The meeting will address a broad range of issues regarding EAEU operation and development, primarily industry integration.

A number of decisions will be made to implement a coordinated transport policy, to regulate various aspects of the formation of a single electric power market, and to ensure monitoring of goods' movement within the union.

The Eurasian Economic Commission will make a report on the elaboration of a program document pertaining to the Union's digital agenda in the period until 2025.
