Kazakhstan to double exports of non-primary goods by 2025

ASTANA. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The government of Kazakhstan has approved the draft of the national export strategy for 2018-2022.

"The program is aimed at implementing strategic goals set in the Kazakhstan - 2050 strategy, with the primary objective of doubling exports of non-primary goods by 2025 as compared with 2015," Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov said at a government meeting on Tuesday in Astana.

"We identified 27 countries as the most promising distribution markets, and we split them into four categories: there are countries of the highest priority, high priority and moderate priority and also countries having long-term export potential," he said.

Russia and China are listed among highest priority export countries, the high priority category includes Belarus, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The moderate export priority group consists of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Georgia, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Poland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.
