Court to consider appeal against extension of Ulyukayev's house arrest on Aug 30

MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) ) - The Moscow City Court will verify the legality of the extension of house arrest of former Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev charged with corruption, Emiliya Khil, the spokesperson for Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court, told Interfax.

"The Moscow City Court will consider an appeal of Ulyukayev's lawyers against the ruling at consideration on the merits regarding the extension of his restrictive measure for six months at 2:45 p.m. on August 30," Khil said on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the court commenced to consideration of the case on the merits. The prosecution is expected to begin the presentation of evidence on September 1.

The court extended Ulyukayev's house arrest until January 27, 2018, at the state prosecution's request at preliminary hearings on August 8.
