Ukraine shells 15 LPR populated localities in past week - Luhansk
LUHANSK. Sept 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) over 40 times in the past week, with 15 populated localities shelled, LPR militia spokesman Andrei Marochko said.
"Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire 44 times over the past week. They fired various weapons, including ones prohibited by the Minsk Agreements. They used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types and small arms," Marochko told reporters on Friday.
Militia positions near the populated localities of Kalynivka, Lohvynove, Lozove, Donetskyi, Pervomaisk, Mariivka, Berezivske, Kalynove, Pryshyb, Krasnyi Lyman, Pankivka, Zhovte, Zholobok, Frunze, Krasnyi Yar were shelled, he said.
"A total of 150 shells, mines and grenades were launched at the territory of the republic," Marochko said.
However, instances of shelling by the Ukrainian side have significantly decreased in comparison with the week prior, he said.
"There are no victims of Ukrainian aggression among LPR militiamen and civilians this week," he said.
