Draft bill on Donbas reintegration introduces term 'operation to defend Ukraine' - Kyiv

KYIV. Sep 5 (Interfax) - The draft bill on Donbas reintegration implies the introduction of the term "operation to defend Ukraine" instead of the 'antiterrorist operation', which Kyiv uses today, Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yuriy Hrymchak said.

When asked by Radio Liberty what term will replace the 'antiterrorist operation', Hrymchak said: "The operation to defend Ukraine".

In response to the follow-up question about weather the term 'war' will be applied to the operation, he said: "No it won't".

Artur Herasymov, head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction in Ukraine, said in late August that the bill on Donbas reintegration would be submitted for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, once the Ukrainian Council of National Security and Defense approves its final version.
