ExxonMobil projects with Rosneft will facilitate settlement of $600 mln dispute with Russia - Dvorkovich

ASTANA. Sept 8 (Interfax) - The implementation of joint projects by Russian state oil major Rosneft and ExxonMobil will facilitate the resolution of the U.S. oil major's claims of more than $600 million against Russia regarding the Sakhalin-1 project, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters.

He did not specify the nature of the agreements reached to settle this tax dispute, or whether the settlement includes ExxonMobil getting a stake in Rosneft projects.

"Participation in projects is a question of the parties' goodwill, and negotiations are constantly being held regarding various projects. As far as I know, Rosneft and ExxonMobil have an interest in implementing certain joint projects. I think that the implementation of joint projects will facilitate [the resolution of the dispute]," Dvorkovich said.
