Defense plants to repay 200-bln ruble loans by yearend - Rogozin

BOLSHOI KAMEN. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Russian defense plants will repay 200-billion ruble loans by the end of this year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.

"I think we will repay principal loans taken by enterprises this year by the yearend. I mean the payments the defense sector was due to make this year, 200 billion rubles. I think we will repay everything this year," Rogozin told reporters.

Rogozin said that enterprises were funding their operations with loans.

"The enterprises will not be using loans any longer; they will be operating exclusively under governmental defense orders. They will be paid so that they can repay their loans ahead of time," Rogozin said.
