Medvedev gives positive evaluation to elections

MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Elections were held at the high level on the unified voting day, Russian Prime Minister and United Russia Party Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Elections are valid and were held at the high level, which is confirmed by our supporters and observers on a whole, who were present at polling stations," Medvedev said at the United Russia party headquarters on Sunday evening.

Elections were not combined with the federal campaign this time, he said. "But, on the whole, to my mind, this did not affect the quality, and practically in each region our voters demonstrated respect to elections and a sufficiently high activity - in some higher, in some others lower," Medvedev said.

"Elections were held at the high level everywhere," he said.
