Russian Security Council calls for additional measures against economic cartels
MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - The Russian Security Council's Interdepartmental Commission on Socioeconomic Security has discussed the countering of cartel conspiracies, a spokesman for the Russian Security Council told Interfax.
"The growing role of cartels in the economy is a threat to the socioeconomic development of the nation, so the government needs to do more to improve norms, laws, and methods of fighting cartel conspiracies and other deals that damage competition," the Security Council said.
The commission also called for stepping up interaction with anti-monopoly agencies of other countries.
