N. Korean ambassador expects Russia to oppose U.S. pressure on Pyongyang
MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Pyongyang hopes that Russia and all Northeast Asian countries will oppose the pressure and sanctions the United States have imposed on North Korea, North Korean Ambassador to Russia Kim Hyun Jun said.
"I hope all countries of the region, including Russia, will make a responsible choice to take a stand against the U.S.' sanctions and pressure on the DPRK so as to radically change the U.S.' hostile policy toward the DPRK, which would help relieve tensions on the Korean Peninsula," Kim said at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.
"The DPRK will continue to develop its nuclear forces to defend its political system and people from the U.S.' nuclear threats," he said.
