Azerbaijan, Turkey to bolster energy cooperation

BAKU. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak have declared their intention to bolster bilateral energy cooperation, the Azerbaijani presidential press service said.

"The contract for the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil blocks through 2050 will serve to strengthen energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey," Aliyev told the Turkish minister at a meeting in Baku on Thursday.

Albayrak described the two countries' evolving energy cooperation as a model for emulation and lauded new projects and mutual investment.

"The significance of the joint strategic projects being carried out by Azerbaijan and Turkey was affirmed at the meeting," the press service said.
