Russia ready to broaden cooperation with Italy on Libya situation - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to broaden diplomatic contacts with Italy on the Libyan issue, the head of the Russian contact group on intra-Libyan settlement of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the State Duma, Lev Dengov, said.

"It is quite possible that these contacts [between the Russian and Italian Foreign Ministers] will develop in the future," Dengov said at the Valdai Discussion Club on Friday.

The Libyan settlement "issue is of extreme concern to them, so I think we will help them and advise them to the best of our ability," Dengov said.
