Crews of three Baltic fleet corvettes deliver artillery strike on sea, coastal targets during Zapad exercise

KALININGRAD. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Baltic fleet ships have conducted artillery firing in the Baltic Sea during a joint strategic exercise Zapad 2017, Capt. 1st rank Roman Martov, the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic fleet, told Interfax on Sunday.

"During the strategic exercise Zapad 2017 in the Baltic Sea, the crews of the corvettes Soobrazitelny, Stoikiy, Steregushchiy and Boikiy successfully practiced repelling a hypothetical enemy's air attacks and delivered an artillery strike on sea and coastal targets," Martov said.

At sea, the crews of the Soobrazitelny, Stoikiy, Steregushchiy and Boikiy successfully repelled a hypothetical enemy's air attacks at Baltic fleet sea firing ranges, he said.
