Normalization of Russia-EU relations depends on Ukraine conflict settlement - Finnish PM

ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The normalization of relations between Russia and the European Union depends on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but dialogue between the parties is important, since cooperation between Moscow and Brussels in many areas is in their best interests, Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila said.

"The Ukraine conflict affects the relations between the European Union and Russia. These relations depend on the conflict's settlement," Sipila said at a press conference following negotiations with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday.

"Despite the sanctions, Russia and the European Union are neighbors, and cooperation in many areas is in the interests of both parties. Anyway, constant dialogue plays a very important role," he said.
