Russian air force flew over 30,500 missions over 2 years of Syrian operation - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 22 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out more than 92,000 airstrikes since the Syrian operation was launched two years ago, the Russian Defense Ministry's Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper said.

"As of September 20, 2017, Russia's air force has flown 30,650 combat missions since the Russian Aerospace Forces' operation in Syria began [since September 30, 2015]," the newspaper said.

The Russian air force has delivered 92,006 airstrikes and has hit 96,828 facilities.

According to materials provided by the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian combat aircraft flew more than 5,000 missions within three months in 2015, 13,848 in 2016, and over 11,600 by September 20, 2017.
