Representatives from 7 states inspect Zapad 2017 exercise area

MOSCOW. Sept 22 (Interfax) - Representatives from seven countries, including the Baltic states, Poland, and Ukraine, have conducted an inspection of the area of Zapad 2017 exercise in accordance the 2011 Vienna Document, the Russian Defense Ministry's official newspaper, Krasnaya Zvezda, reported on Friday.

Observers from Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Poland, and Ukraine carried out inspections over the area of the joint Russia-Belarus military exercise, according to an infographic published in the report.

Furthermore, Russian specialists conducted three inspections of the United States, France, and Germany, this week under the Treaty on Open Skies. The inspection on Russian territory was carried out by U.S. and Norwegian representatives.
