Fate of Nord Stream 2 can be discussed once new German govt in place - Peskov
MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - The fate of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project can be discussed once a new German government has been formed, Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president's spokesman, told reporters.
"You'll have to wait, the government hasn't yet been formed. When it has there'll be something to discuss," he said, when asked whether the Kremlin was concerned about the fate of the pipeline project in light of the change in the coalition in the Bundestag following the German parliamentary elections.
"And after that, we don't know what the position will be regarding this important energy project. So far nobody has made any statements about this," he said.
Asked to comment on individual statements made about Nord Stream 2 during the German election campaign, Peskov said "the election campaign is one thing, and the government of the day is another."
