LPR records 5 shelling attacks by Ukrainian army in past 24 hours

LUHANSK/DONBAS. Sept 28 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian armed forces have launched five shelling attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past 24 hours, the LPR militia said.

"The Ukrainian army has violated the truce five times in the past 24 hours, using grenade launchers of different types, infantry fighting vehicles and small arms," the militia said in a report shared with Interfax on Thursday.

According to the LPR militia, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled districts of the populated localities of Frunze, Zhelte, Pryshyb, and Lohvynove.

The head of the Donetsk region's Kyiv-appointed military-civilian administration, Pavlo Zhebrivskiy, for his part, said that according to the local authorities, militia forces have been shelling the localities of Zhovanka and Mariinka since Thursday morning.

A civilian in Zhovanka has sustained a bullet wound in the strikes, he said.

According to Mariinka district administration head Volodymyr Moroz, three shelling attacks have been observed on Thursday. In addition to that, the militia fired grenade launchers as around midnight, and 21 heavy mortar strikes have been recorded since 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, he said.
