Russian firms ready to work at power facilities in Guinea - Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Russian companies are ready to join efforts to build power-generating facilities in Guinea, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Russian companies are ready to join in to build and equip Guinean power facilities. In particular, our company, Power Machines, is interested in exporting electricity-generating units as part of a project to build a hydropower plant," Putin told reporters after talks with President of Guinea Alpha Conde on Thursday.

Rushydro can assist with technological surveys and hydropower capacity designs, he said.

Putin also said he hoped that Russia's proposals on exporting aircraft, trucks, and all-terrain vehicles to Guinea would prove compelling.

On the whole, the atmosphere of the negotiations was friendly and positive, he said.
