U.S. ready for partial lifting of sanctions if Donbas problem is resolved - Tefft
MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Some of the sanctions on Russia may be lifted if there is a settlement in Donbas, former United States Ambassador to Russia John Tefft told the newspaper Kommersant in a farewell interview.
Like the former U.S. administration, the incumbent administration will be ready to lift some of the sanctions if progress is made in Donbas, Tefft said.
There is still a long way to go, and there has been no serious discussion of the possible softening of sanctions yet, he said.
