Two pilots killed as military plane crashed in Ukraine's Khmelnytskyi region

KYIV. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Two pilots operating an L-39 military airplane were killed when the aircraft crashed near the town of Starokostyantyniv in Ukraine's Khmelnytskyi region, Ukrainian Air Force command spokesman Roman Yurchylo told Interfax.

"Contact with the aircraft was lost during its training flight at 12:20 p.m. The L-39 plane crashed near the town of Starokostyantyniv. Its two pilots have died," he said.

Rescue services and law-enforcement agencies are working at the site, the Air Force command wrote on its Facebook page.

The reasons for the accident are being established.

The L-39 is a two-seat trainer jet.
