Rada speaker signs bill extending Donbas special status, submits it to president
KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy has signed the bill approved by parliament on Friday on the promotion of a peaceful settlement in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which extends the special local self-governance procedures in those areas by one year.
The Ukrainian parliament's website defined the document's status as a "bill signed by the Verkhovna Rada chairman" and dated October 6.
As reported earlier, 229 deputies voted for the law.
The law has been submitted to the president for signing; it will take effect on date of its publication.
