U.S. withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal to have negative implications - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The United States' withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) addressing the Iranian nuclear program would have negative implications, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"No doubt, the withdrawal of any country, especially such a keynote actor as the U.S., would definitely have negative implications," Peskov said.

One can only guess how serious these consequences may be and how and when they may manifest themselves, he said.

Peskov reiterated the opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Iran nuclear deal's importance.

The Washington Post said last week citing White House sources that U.S. President Donald Trump intended to declare the U.S.' withdrawal from JCPOA. The newspaper said the president would make the announcement on October 12. Tehran repeatedly said that the U.S.' withdrawal from the deal would not go unanswered.
