UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs to visit Kyiv, Donbas
KYIV. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Ursula Mueller, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator in the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), will visit Kyiv and eastern Ukraine on October 10-13.
During her three-day visit to Ukraine, Mueller plans to meet with top Ukrainian government officials, members of the humanitarian and diplomatic communities and the families of those forced to resettle due to the Donbas conflict, the OCHA press service said on Monday.
Mueller is also expected to visit eastern Ukraine to familiarize herself with the current humanitarian situation there.
According to the OCHA, four million people in Ukraine (almost 9% of the country's population) are currently in need of humanitarian aid.
