Russian bituminous coal exports to non-CIS up 9% in 8M - customs
MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russian bituminous coal exports to non-CIS countries grew 9% year-on-year in January-August 2017 to 109.131 million tonnes, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
Exports of coke and semi-coke to non-CIS rose 26.9% in 8M 2017 to 722,300 tonnes from 569,300 tonnes a year earlier.
Exports of bituminous coal to the CIS fell 12.3% to 6.05 million tonnes, down from 6.896 million tonnes in 8M 2016 while exports of coke and semi-coke jumped 1.7-fold to 1.278 million tonnes, up from 758,700 tonnes in January-August 2016.
In total 115.182 million tonnes of bituminous coal was exported in January-August worth over $8 billion and 2 million tonnes of coke and semi-coke worth $395 million.

Bituminous coal imports came to 14.337 million tonnes ($264.4 million), with 14.311 million tonnes of this imported from the CIS, 12.8% more than in 8M 2016 with 12.688 million tonnes imported.
