Progress resupply ship which failed to take off from Baikonur was supposed to set mass record - source

MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - The Progress MS-07 resupply spacecraft, which failed to take off from Baikonur on Thursday, was the heaviest ship in its class, a source in the rocket and space industry told Interfax.

"The previous spacecraft mass record stood at 7,338 kilograms, and Progress MS-07 weighted in at almost 100 kilograms more. A more powerful launch vehicle than usual was used for the mission," the source said.

It became known on Thursday that the launch of the Progress MS-07 from Baikonur had been delayed.
