SUEK sees coal output fall 1% in 9M to almost 78 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - JSC SUEK produced 77.9 million tonnes of coal in January-Septmeber this year, down 1% on the same period in 2016, the company said.

Sales rose 3% to 76 million tonnes. A total of 39.9 million tonnes was sold to foreign clients, a 6% rise; mainly to China, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Morocco, Germany, Turkey, Israel, Poland and Spain.

Sales on the domestic market remained stable at 36.1 million tonnes of coal. SUEK shipped 28.8 tonnes of coal to energy companies.

The company is planning to produce around 105 million tonnes of coal of which 40 million tonnes is due to be exported.

SUEK is a production, processing, transport and service company located in seven Russian regions. Its principal shareholder is Andrei Melnichenko.
