Sheremetyevo boosts passenger traffic 15.7% in September

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport rose 15.7% in September 2017 year-on-year to 3.75 million people (including children under two years old), management company JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport reported.

Passenger traffic on international routes rose 14.7% to 2.09 million and was up 17% to 1.66 million on domestic routes.

"Sheremetyevo concluded partnership agreements with two new airlines in September. Turkish Atlasglobal has begun daily service on the Istanbul-Moscow route and China Southern Airlines - twice a week from Shenzhen," it said.

Passenger traffic in January-September rose 18.4% year-on-year to 30.25 million people (including children under two). Passenger traffic on domestic routes increased 18% to 13.42 million and traffic on international routes increased 18.7% to 16.83 million. The airlines accounting for the bulk of passenger traffic were Aeroflot , Nordwind, Royal Flight, Pegas Fly, Air France and Air Astana.

Two other airports in the Moscow hub, Domodedovo and Vnukovo, have yet to report passenger traffic data for September.
