N. Korean diplomat has no plans to meet with U.S., S. Korean delegations at Non-Proliferation Conference
MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - The Director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's North America Department, Choe Son Hui, said she has no intention of meeting with U.S. representatives during her stay in Moscow.
"I am not planning such meetings," Choe told reporters on Friday.
She also said she has no plans to meet with the South Korean delegation.
Choe is visiting Moscow for the Non-Proliferation Conference.
The South Korean news agency Yonhap said on Thursday that Choe might have a meeting with former U.S. Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who took part in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear deal, and the former special advisor of the Department of State on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, Robert Einhorn, on the sidelines of the Moscow conference.
A representative of the South Korean Foreign Ministry will be participating in the conference, an informed source told Interfax earlier. This will be the second event in a week attended by both North and South Korea.
