Medvedev to visit Beijing in late October, scheduled to meet with Xi

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the 22nd regular meeting of the heads of governments of Russia and China during his visit to Beijing on October 30 - November 2, the government press service said.

A big package of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and corporate documents is being prepared for signing following a meeting between Medvedev and Chinese State Council Premier Li Keqiang.

The heads of governments of Russia and China will hold negotiations on key issues of bilateral interaction in the trade-economic, investment, energy, industrial, transport and humanitarian spheres.

The meeting will also address the implementation of substantial joint infrastructure and high-tech projects and issues relating to interregional and border cooperation.

"The sides will also exchange opinions on issues relating to interaction between the EAEU and the Chinese One Belt, One Road initiative with an emphasis on promoting specific transborder initiatives," the report said.

Medvedev is also scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and National People's Congress Chairman Zhang Dejiang during the visit, the press service said.

Medvedev and Li Keqiang will also attend the closing ceremony of the Years of Russian and Chinese Media held in 2016-2017.
