Sobchak denies her campaign coordinated with Kremlin

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Media personality Ksenia Sobchak said on Tuesday that she had not asked for permission to run for president at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin but did notify him of her intentions.

"The meeting was related to a film about my father, Anatoly Sobchak, which I am making, and Vladimir Putin is a man who used to work together with him. I did not ask for permission, because I did not need any. It so happened that I was working on the film and made the announcement at the face-to-face with Putin, just as I personally informed Alexei Navalny earlier," Sobchak told a press conference on Tuesday.

She dismissed claims that her nomination was coordinated with the Kremlin as insulting.
