Russia, Germany must continue dialogue, resist 'alienation' of recent years - Steinmeier

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier intends to contribute to improving the relationship between Russia and Germany.

"I consider it necessary to use our capacities as presidents in order to continue the dialogue and to try and determine how we can achieve an improvement in our relationship, which we cannot now be satisfied with," Steinmeier said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I am convinced that we need to resist the alienation which there has been between our countries in recent years. To that end, both sides should continue the dialogue, make long-term attempts to find solutions to crises," Steinmeier said.
