Russia, Saudi Arabia reaffirm determination to strengthen trade, investment ties

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Moscow and Riyadh have reaffirmed their desire to develop cooperation in trade, investment, and the humanitarian sphere, the Russian Foreign Ministry said after a meeting between the Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Russia, Abdulrahman al-Rassi.

"Moscow and Riyadh have stated their common aim to gradually strengthen their mutually beneficial ties in the trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres in accordance with the arrangements reached during the state visit to Russia by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on October 4-8," the ministry said in a statement published on its website on Wednesday.

"During the conversation both sides gave a high assessment of the current level of the Russian-Saudi partnership across a broad spectrum of areas," the ministry said.

Al-Rassi was awarded a "For Cooperation" badge by the Russian Foreign Ministry for his significant personal contribution to the development of the Russian-Saudi relationship.
