Stavropol police attackers not linked to terrorists - source
STAVROPOL. Oct 25 (Interfax) - The gunmen who attacked police officers in Yessentuki, Stavropol Territory, had not been planning a terrorist attack, they are ordinary criminals, an informed source told Interfax.
"The assailant, who was eliminated by police with return fire, has now been identified. In all likelihood, the situation is nothing to do with assailants being terrorists. They are thought to be representatives of the criminal environment," the source said.
The hunt for the second assailant continues, he said.
Interfax does not yet have an official confirmation of the information on causes of the incident.
