Verkhovna Rada deputy Mosiychuk wounded in explosion in Kyiv

KYIV. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Verkhovna Rada deputy Ihor Mosiychuk was wounded in an explosion, which occurred when he was leaving the Espreso TV channel's office, the deputy's press service said on Wednesday evening.

The deputy was hospitalized, according to a statement posted on Mosiychuk's page on Facebook.

Mosiychuk participated in a program aired by Espreso; a car parked near the channel's office blew up when the deputy and his bodyguard were leaving the building, the deputy's press secretary Anna Senyk said on 112 channel.

Mosiychuk was threatened many times, Senyk said.

In turn, Kyiv police spokesperson Oksana Blyschyk said on Facebook that the car explosion in Kyiv's Solomianka district hurt two people.

"The police were informed of a car explosion on Adam Mickiewicz Street in the Solomianka district at 10:05 p.m. According to the preliminary information, two people were hurt," she said.
