Russia, Turkey see 9 ceasefire breaches in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - The situation in Syria's de-escalation areas remains stable, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"The situation in the de-escalation areas has been stable. Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches have recorded five shooting incidents in the provinces of Aleppo and Damascus," the statement said.

Their Turkish colleagues observed four ceasefire breaches in the provinces of Damascus and Hama.

"Most cases of random small-arms fire occurred in the areas held by the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist groups [banned in Russia]," the statement said.
