MegaFon appoints Gevork Vermishyan as Executive Director

MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - The board of directors at PJSC MegaFon on Wednesday nominated Gevork Vermishyan to the position of Executive Director, the telco said in a statement.

This decision is subject to approval by an extraordinary general shareholders meeting to be held on November 30.

Vermishyan had been CFO since July 2011.

The Executive Director's responsibilities will include "the management of the company's operations, control of implementation of the company's strategy, arrangement of work of the company's collegial governing bodies and supervision of subsidiaries and affiliated entities of MegaFon," the company said.

The position of Executive Director has been vacant since the previous incumbent, Yevgeny Chermashentsev, quit the company at the end of 2016.

Alexander Barunin will be appointed acting CFO of MegaFon. He currently serves as Head of Planning, Management Reporting and Financial Control. Vermishyan will be Executive Director until the annual shareholders meeting in 2020.
