Passenger traffic at Russian airports to grow 16.5% to 120 mln people in 2017 - Domodedovo
MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic at Russian airports will grow 16.5% year-on-year to 120 million people in 2017, according to a forecast made by Domodedovo aviation marketing director, Vyacheslav Grushin, at a business forum in Moscow Passenger traffic will grow 8% to 130 million people in 2018. Moreover, a third of the growth, or 3.5 million passengers, would come from the World Cup which will be held in 11 cities in Russia.
Average annual passenger growth at Russian airports from 2018 to 2025 would total 5% per year, according to Domodedovo.
The three airports belonging to the Moscow airport hub - Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo - will have passenger traffic of 87.7 million people, or 15.2% growth in comparison to 2016, according to Domodedovo. Passenger growth is estimated to total 93.1 million people in 2018, of which 1.9 million would be visitors for the 2018 World Cup.
