Rosatom to also offer investors non-energy products at UAE road show - Likhachev

ABU DHABI. Oct 30 (Interfax) - The Russian State Nuclear Corporation Rosatom is planning to offer potential investors non-energy products in addition to its traditional range at the upcoming road show in the UAE, Rosatom head Alexei Likhachev told reporters.

"The projects themselves will be presented at the road show. I want to stress just two points: the first, our projects are not only concerned with atomic energy. They include a whole range of non-energy areas including nuclear medicine, water desalination and using nuclear capabilities in developing agriculture. For certain investors there are no restrictions to cooperation; we will be happy to arrange joint cooperation with representatives from any country in the region," he said.

JSC Atomenergoprom which consolidates the state nuclear corporation's civilian assets, has announced a series of meetings with sovereign funds in non-deal road show format in Abu Dhabi from October 31 to November 3.

Rosatom's portfolio of projects at the end of Q4 2016 included 34 power plant units in countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In the Middle East, Rosatom is carrying out projects to build nuclear plants in Iran, Turkey and Egypt. It is holding talks in Jordan and is extending the service life of the Armenian NPP. Rosatom is also interested in Saudi Arabia's program to build 16 nuclear power plant reactor units.
