Ukraine, Saudi Arabia to sign 'extremely important' military-technical contracts - Poroshenko
KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Saudi Arabia are about to sign an agreement on defense cooperation, President Petro Poroshenko said.
"We have effectively completed the discussion and are ready to sign an agreement on defense cooperation. I can say that two extremely important, big contracts are taking form in the sphere of military-technical cooperation," Poroshenko said.
Ukraine and Saudi Arabia are "demonstrating significant progress" on aircraft building, he said.
"Our Antonov 132D aircraft is currently in Saudi Arabia, and we are getting development no longer on the experimental aircraft but on the aircraft that will be in serial production. Also, we will consider expanding the line of aircraft that will be made for Saudi Arabia in the first stage and that will be made in Saudi Arabia in the framework of [...] future cooperation," Poroshenko said.
