Baltic Fleet corvettes destroy mock enemy submarine in Mediterranean Sea

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of Baltic Fleet ships, the corvettes Boikiy and Soobrazitelnyy and the Kola tanker, has practiced mock enemy search, detection and destruction in the Mediterranean Sea.

"In particular, the crews conducted routine drills in searching, detecting, maintaining contact with, tracking down, and countering a submarine of a mock enemy, with the use of an anti-submarine weapon system," the Baltic Fleet said in a statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

"While in the Mediterranean, the crews also conducted drills in repelling mock enemy air attacks from various altitudes and directions by carrying out mock firing with shipborne air defense weapons," the statement said.
