Russia sees 11, Turkey 2 truce breaches in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - The situation in the de-escalation areas in Syria remains stable, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The situation in the de-escalation areas has been stable. Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating breaches of the cessation of hostilities have recorded 11 instances of gunfire in the governorates of Aleppo, Homs, Damascus, and Daraa," the ministry said.

Turkish inspectors observed two violations in the Damascus governorate.

"Most instances of random small-arms fire were seen in districts held by militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist groups [banned in Russia]," the ministry said.
