Russia to supply small arms, grenade launchers, vehicles to Philippines - FSMTC

BANGKOK. Nov 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will supply small arms, grenade launchers, and vehicles to the Philippines, the head of Russia's official delegation to the Defense & Security exhibition, which is taking place in Bangkok, and Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Mikhail Petukhov, told reporters.

"An intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation, and a number of contracts for the delivery of small arms, RPG-7V2 man-portable anti-tank grenade launchers with munitions, and motor vehicles to the Philippine Defense Ministry and Coast Guard were signed during the official visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to the Philippines," Petukhov said.

Shoigu paid the official visit to the Philippines on October 23-25. He took part in the fourth conference of the defense ministers of ASEAN member-states and dialogue partners. There was also a series of bilateral and multilateral negotiations with foreign colleagues. Shoigu signed an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation with the Philippines on behalf of Russia.
