LUHANSK/DONETSK-KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian armed forces have launched 11 shelling attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past 24 hours, a LPR militia spokesman told Interfax.

"The Ukrainian army has violated the truce 11 times in the past 24 hours, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, AGS and SPG grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicle weapons, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, and small arms," the spokesman said.

The Ukrainian armed forces shelled districts of Kalynove, Lohvynove, Kalynivka, Kalynove-Borshchuvate, Sokilnyky, Krasniy Lyman, and Zhelobok, according to the self-proclaimed republic's defense agency.

"The preliminary information available indicates that no buildings have been destroyed and there have been no casualties among the civilian population and [militia] servicemen," the spokesman said.

For his part, a spokesman for the operational command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) told reporters that the DPR has seen 23 truce breaches by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours.

"The Ukrainian armed forces have committed 23 truce violations in the past 24 hours. They shelled 13 populated localities," the spokesman said.

Mortars of different calibers, weapons of infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, and small arms were used against the self-proclaimed republic, he said.

Meanwhile, the press center of the headquarters of Kyiv's military operation in south-eastern Ukraine said that one Ukrainian serviceman has been killed and another three injured in shelling attacks launched by the militia in the past 24 hours.

"One of our defenders was killed, another two were wounded and one sustained a combat injury as a result of fighting," the headquarters' press center said on its Facebook account.

According to it, a total of 19 truce violations were recorded, and the Ukrainian armed forces returned fire on 13 occasions.

"The situation in the special operation area did not see any substantial changes at the end of the past 24-hour period. The adversary continued to shell positions of the Ukrainian armed forces, using mortars and the whole range of infantry weapons," the press center said.

In particular, militia forces used 120mm and 82mm mortars and infantry fighting vehicle weapons against Ukrainian positions near Pavlopil in the Mariupol sector. Anti-tank grenade launchers and machineguns were fired in the vicinity of the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve.

"The situation was most tense in the Luhansk sector last night," where militia forces used infantry weapons against Ukrainian positions near Krymske, Novooleksandrivka, Luhanske, and Katerynivka.

"One serviceman of the Ukrainian armed forces was wounded and another one sustained a combat injury at around 6:00 p.m. as a result of one of these shelling attacks," it said.
