Russia sees 7, Turkey 2 truce breaches in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - The situation in the de-escalation areas in Syria remains stable, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The situation in the de-escalation areas has been stable. Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating breaches of the cessation of hostilities have recorded seven instances of gunfire in the Aleppo and Homs governorates," the ministry said.

Turkish inspectors observed two violations in the Damascus governorate.

"Most instances of random small-arms fire were seen in districts held by militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist groups [both banned in Russia]," the ministry said.
